Every year, 40,000 people descend upon Las Vegas from all over the world to discuss shopping centers. That’s where I am. This may sound fun but I’ll be in meetings from dawn til dusk followed by cocktail hours and company hosted dinners. I am glad that I found the perfect work appropriate shorts that will make this week brighter! Weekend In Positano Print

The print on this dress has taken me back to one of the most beautiful places that I have traveled to – Positano, Italy along the Amalfi Coast. The sea is as blue as can be, the Italian villas are nestled along the hillside overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the Li Galli Islands (see my travel posts here and here). John Steinbeck wrote in Harpers Bazaar in 1953 that “Positano bites deep. It is a dream place that isn’t quite real when you are there and becomes beckoningly real after you have gone.” I hope I get to go back sometime soon because I have the perfect dress for walking along the cobblestone streets and having moonlit Italian dinners overlooking the Mediterranean Sea! Instead, I am en route to Vegas this weekend for the biggest convention of the year for my industry – I’ll definitely be packing this dress. Dress – J.Crew (here), Jacket – Zara (here), Sunglasses – Prada (here), Shoes – from a sandal shop in Capri (similar here and here).
Parisian Cafe

My husband and I were invited to a Paris photography exhibit in Venice. This outfit was inspired by the beautiful black and white images of the most romantic city in the world (see my travel post here). The Parisian Cafe is the quintessential gathering place for the French. They meet, relax, and gather to experience the joie de vivre…all while looking effortlessly chic. I paired a romantic pleated skirt with a feminine top with a pink peter pan collar (and I daydreamed about being back in Paris). Shirt – J.Crew (here), Skirt – dress worn as a skirt (similar here and here), Purse – Chanel, Shoes – Christian Louboutin, Lipstick – Mac Girl About Town, Watch – my Mom’s vintage Omega
Golden State

This breezy black and white dress is perfect for the warmer temperatures we’ve been getting in Southern California. I paired it with my cap toe pumps (they’re very comfortable for walking) and a clear lucite clutch. The clear accessories were all over the Spring runways and I was swooning over this stunning Valentino number. After searching for the perfect clear clutch, I finally found one that I liked with a detachable gold chain shoulder strap (and it was very inexpensive on Etsy). I opted for a simple one and filled it with my own accessories. I like how it goes with everything because it’s clear. They also come in different colors and also with a built in pouch if you don’t want to display your accessories. It’s definitely a fun conversation piece! Power Lunch

This floral and leopard combo dress was what I wore to lunch with my hubby during the work week. I like the mix of the sweet floral with the edgy leopard print. My husband’s restaurant venue of choice was Craft (all suits and all business) by his office. The food was delicious and it was a nice break from our busy work schedules amongst the energy of all of the business deals happening around us. Dress – Dolce & Gabbana old (love this one here or here), Jacket – part of a suit (similar here), Shoes – Christian Louboutin, Purse – Louis Vuitton
Spotted

As much as I’m a fan of leopard (as you can see from my last post), I also have a soft spot for polka dots (also seen here and here). I’ve been having fun experimenting with this dotted peplum jacket over t-shirts, sweaters, pants and skirts. I thought the volume of the skirt would not work with it but because the jacket is cinched at the waist I think it made a good combination (skirt also worn here). Jacket – Anthropologie (here), Skirt – H&M old (similar here and here), Shoes – Christian Louboutin (here)
Black Belt

I was so excited when I found this vintage Celine belt. It fit me perfectly and it was in pristine condition. One of my favorite pass-times is hunting for unique pieces such as this. My husband came up with the title for this post because he thinks that I should be awarded a black belt in shopping. I paired it with a simple silky blouse and wide trousers for the office but I can already think of other combinations that I want to try. This belt will definitely get a lot of love. Sweater – Tory Burch old (a lot of great prints here), Blouse – Banana Republic old (similar here), Belt – vintage Celine (similar here), Pants – Zara (here), Purse – Chanel, Booties – Manolo Blahnik
Get The Look
Cap It Off

Coco Chanel designed the first pair of two-toned heels in 1957 after being inspired by men’s leisure shoes. Her debut shoe was in beige with a black cap toe. The black toe was supposed to hide the scuffs while giving the illusion of a longer leg. Over 50 years later, this is still a classic shoe. I paired mine with classic black and white but they go with everything from dresses to jeans. Sunny Blue

I’m keeping it cool in blue as it’s another work travel week for me. This is typically what I wear to the office when I know I’ll have to pack for an early morning flight and battle LAX. You would think that being on the road so much for so many years I’d have packing down to a tee but I really hate packing and I’ll procrastinate until the very last minute! Chambray Shirt – Gap (here), Jeans – JBrand (here), Purse – Chanel, Cuff – Hermes CDC, Bracelet – Hermes, Shoes – Giuseppe Zanotti (last seen at the outlet here), Sunglasses – aviator (similar here)
Life’s a Beach

Silk jersey wrap dresses are quite the staple in my closet. I have accumulated quite the collection because they are great for work, travel and weekends. I like to go for the bold patterns and this particular one happened to match with the colors of the amazing sunset. I need to pinch myself on days like this as it doesn’t get any better than living at the beach! A far cry from growing up where there was 300 days of rain a year!… Dress – DVF (here), Shoes – old (love these ones here), Bracelet – Hermes, Watch – vintage, Sunglasses – Prada (here), Purse – Celine (here)
Springtime

I’ve never been big into floral prints but finding just the right pattern and color combination and I’m a fan of it for Spring. I like this print because it’s not too overpowering with the darker color in the middle offsetting the flowers to the side. I matched my orange jacket with it because there are hints of orange in the flower pattern. I can’t wait to walk to our favorite happy hour place at the beach today after work (where I won’t be needing the jacket). Weekend forecast: sunny and 75 degrees! Jacket – J.Crew (love this one here), Pullover – Gap (here), Skirt – Zara old (similar here), Bracelet – Hermes, Shoes – Gucci (similar here), Clutch – old (similar here)
